Kit Rain Cover

The Rain Cover goes over a Transit pack when the walk from the station is longer than the forecast promised. One size fits all three Transit packs, 25 to 45 litres, with an elastic hem and a drawcord that cinches around the harness. It packs into its own stuff sack the size of an orange.

40-denier silicone-coated nylon, 120 grams including the sack. It is a cover, not a bag: rain runs off, but a bag set down in a puddle will still take water at the back panel.

Questions

Does it fit the 45L expanded? Yes, with the drawcord fully let out. It is snug; if you also have the hip belt out, tuck the belt inside the cover.

Does it fit the Daily packs or the duffels? No. It is cut for the Transit shape. The Daily packs are coated fabric and shed a normal shower without a cover.

Is it waterproof? The fabric is. The cover leaves the back panel exposed where it meets your body, so heavy rain will eventually reach the harness. Your clothes inside stay dry.
